The Russian “Gazprom” informed the Bulgarian gas company Bulgargaz about the cessation of gas supplies. Gas supplies will stop on April 27.
The Bulgarian side assures that it has fully fulfilled its obligations and made all payments required under the current agreement – “on time, strictly and in accordance with its provisions.”
This is reported by the Ministry of Energy of Bulgaria.
“After analysis, it was found that the new two-stage payment procedure proposed by Russia (payment through special accounts in Rosbanks – Ed.) does not comply with the current contract and creates significant risks for Bulgaria, in particular, making payments without receiving gas supplies from the Russian side “, the message says.
Steps are now being taken in Bulgaria to secure alternative sources of natural gas supplies. Restrictive measures on the consumption of natural gas in the country have not yet been introduced.
Earlier, Gazprom announced a complete cessation of gas supplies to Poland.
