Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that Russian troops stationed in the unrecognized Transnistria are not capable of capturing Chisinau, but Moldova could still be in big trouble. Therefore, the state should turn to Romania and Ukraine for help.
Moldova is the closest neighbor of Ukraine, whose fate is far from indifferent to us, said Arestovich .
The adviser to the head of the OP spoke about this in a conversation with Russian human rights activist Mark Feigin on April 26.
“Today they (Russian troops – ed.) pushed us across the bridge, which is on the Dniester estuary, obviously with a desire to stop our ability to transfer troops there. So, what should we assume? That they can crawl up and try to organize some kind of landing operation there scary with a direct race in Pridnestrovie,” Arestovich said.
He added that the main thing for Ukraine in this situation is the understanding that Russia has added another operational area to itself.
Feigin asked the adviser to the head of the OP if the Russian troops stationed in the unrecognized Transnistria were capable of capturing Chisinau and how quickly?
“No, well, where to capture Chisinau? Well, there are five to seven thousand there. Moldova can get into very big troubles. And the best thing that Moldova can do in this sense, it seems to me, is to turn to Ukraine and Romania for help. (…) The fact that the Romanians are a people close to them and will want to intercede … And Romania is a NATO country, an EU country. It can be really fun here,” Arestovich said.
“Well, we also need to understand for us that Moldova is the closest neighbor, whose fate we are far from indifferent to . We have always stood with the Moldovan people, we stand and will stand. Therefore, they can turn to us for help,” added the adviser to the head of the presidential office.
“We can handle it,” he also answered the question of how many forces Ukraine would need to capture Tiraspol.
Recall that on April 25, in the Transnistrian Tiraspol , explosions were heard near the so-called Ministry of State Security of the unrecognized republic.
And on April 26, unknown people blew up a radio center in the unrecognized Transnistria. As a result, two of the most powerful antennas that broadcast Russian radio were disabled.
Ukrainian intelligence found out that these explosions were a planned provocation by the Russian special services. However, the so-called “power” of the unrecognized republic, together with Russia, accused Ukraine of provocations.
