The Russian military fired on five railway stations in central and western Ukraine, Ukrzaliznytsia chief Oleksandr Kamyshin said.

As a result of the shelling, there are dead and wounded.

At least 16 passenger trains were delayed.

“Due to damage to traction substations, there is no voltage in the catenary in the sections Shepetivka-Kozyatyn, Zhmerynka-Kozyatyn, Kozyatyn-Fastiv,” Ukrzaliznytsia said.

The head of the military administration Vitaliy Koval reported about the damage to the railway infrastructure in Rivne region. He spoke about three missile strikes in Zdolbuniv region.

“There are no casualties. One worker has minor injuries. The windows and roofs of about 20 nearby houses are damaged. We estimate the damage,” Koval wrote in a telegram.

He added that the movement of passenger trains has been resumed and work is underway to overcome the consequences of the strikes.

Several explosions were heard in the Vinnytsia region.

The head of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, Serhiy Borzov, said that Zhmerynka and Kozyatyn came under rocket fire, as a result of which there were victims and wounded.

“The enemy is trying to strike at critical infrastructure. There are victims and wounded,” he said, adding that rescue services were working on the scene.

Korosten, Zhytomyr Oblast, was also hit by a missile at 8:30 a.m., Mayor Volodymyr Moskalenko confirmed.

According to preliminary information, no one was injured. But people were frightened by the explosion, the mayor added.

Korosten is one of the most important hub stations of the South-Western Railway.

Fires broke out as a result of the shelling in the Lviv region in two settlements of the Zolochiv district, said the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytskyi.

“On April 25, at about 8:30 a.m., a rocket explosion occurred at the traction substation of the Krasne railway station,” he later wrote.

The fire was extinguished, no one was injured, the governor added and thanked the Ukrainian air defense forces.

One missile was destroyed in the Lviv region, he said.

“The missiles flew to the west of Ukraine from the south-east, the Russian occupiers fired them from strategic aircraft, probably Tu-95,” Kozytsky added.

He also noted that the information about the explosions in Yavoriv district, which is actively disseminated by some telegram channels and media, is not true, and called for trusting only verified information from official sources.

The site of the missile strike near the city of Krasne was visited by BBC correspondents. They asked one of the policemen guarding the place if there were any victims.

“No,” he says, then smiles and raises his thumb. Mikhail, who works as a dispatcher at a local train station, told the BBC that he heard two powerful explosions on Monday morning.

“I saw in the sky how our air defenses were trying to shoot down [missiles],” he said.

The military did not allow journalists to name the specific location of the explosions, but allowed them to photograph the wreckage of a Russian missile. All that was left of it was a beveled piece of metal in the grass, with an inscription in Russian.

Railways here are an important route for migrants heading west, as well as for equipment needed in the east.

On the eve of Easter, the Russians launched a missile strike on Kremenchuk. One person was killed and seven were injured.
