War: Anger is one of the best emotions

The war continues. The marathon continues, which requires physical and mental strength, endurance and unity.

Our emotional swings continue: anxiety, anger, euphoria, apathy change each other, mix and lead us to adaptation … Or not.

One of the best, not surprisingly, emotions during the war is anger. Anger gives strength, anger gives energy to act, charge and motivate. This is a perfectly normal reaction in a situation where we are attacked.

But anger is like fire. It can warm you, it can protect you, it can burn enemy tanks, but it can also burn yourself or harm your loved ones.

Our anger is a reaction to the broken boundaries of what I feel is “my own”, a reaction “defend yourself, beat the aggressor”.

The most important thing is to remember who is the enemy, who is the aggressor, to whom our healthy reaction of anger should be directed. And act. Take small, accessible steps to counter the aggressor.

Anger, rage, rage – this is a call to action: beat the enemy!

And what if I can’t?

Then anger can “burn out” and lead to apathy or burns of our loved ones.

How not to burn out?

When there is a call to action that is currently impossible, helplessness and apathy are formed. “It’s impossible, I can’t do anything, there’s no point in trying to do something,” – such thoughts appear when we “burn out”.

How not to burn loved ones?

When anger burns inside, if it is not directed in the right direction, towards the one who is really guilty, the one who really violated the borders – not only psychological, which we talked about in peacetime, but also state and physical, if not given useful task, we will begin to pour anger on those around.

Anger is a very strong bodily reaction. What shall I do?

Act where possible. While there is passion and strength, find them a useful direction.

Anger is a very strong bodily reaction, so it will be optimal to use the body itself.

It is a good idea to do active physical exercises: push-ups from the wall or floor, squats give a good way out of energy, for the benefit of yourself.

Because we need a strong psyche and a strong body to survive and live on, to win and rebuild.

If you feel a wave of rage – start exercising. If this is not possible at the moment, or is inappropriate, clench your fists and release them, listening to the sensations while relaxing. Several such compressions are usually enough to reach a more balanced state.

Don’t set too big goals. Do not devalue small achievements. Use the power of the energy of anger where it is useful, to the extent that is feasible and possible.

Send anger to the address, so act to “repel” the attacker. Including taking care of yourself to be mentally and physically stronger, albeit “for evil” enemies, do not give up.

Keep control in your life. Let it be simple routines, like brushing your teeth or tidying up yourself if you can’t or don’t do anything else. Simple actions, where there is a “press the button – get the result” effect, help to feel in control and not to despair or helplessness.

Agree on personal boundaries

We often get annoyed because we are constantly close to our relatives or strangers, and we lack personal space.

The opportunity to have “their territory” will help, among other things, to go to the “outside world” for contact.

In order not to “fly” on loved ones, speak in words important to you needs, agree on actions and space so as to bring the conditions as close as possible to comfortable.

Do not accumulate irritation with polite “and nothing, I’m fine for your convenience” – it will quickly lead to an explosion, if you do not immediately agree on important things.

Agree on personal boundaries and your own space, even if it can only be “my cup” and not “my room” – it will give you a sense of control over your life and space.

If possible and you feel the need, be alone from time to time.

If this is not possible – make a fuss, immerse yourself in virtual worlds, books, music, agreeing with loved ones that at this time you can be disturbed only in case of danger.

Do not get involved in unnecessary arguments, online fights and empty fists.

Do not waste useful energy.

And most importantly, remember: the enemy is not your loved ones. The enemy is outside. And our strength is in unity with those who are with us.

So let’s be strong and direct our efforts to our advantage.

And if you notice that you can not cope with your emotions, do not hesitate, seek professional help.
