I keep trying comfortable, functional and beautiful urban backpacks. Today we will talk about a relatively new brand in the backpack market – Able Carry. The Daily model appeared in 2014 and still remains relevant.
Appearance
The backpack is available in several options. The black backpack is made from X-PAC fabric, while the green one is made from Cordura. X-PAC is a durable, water-repellent fabric that is virtually indestructible during use. Cordura is a similar material, but less dense. There are other colors, but it is quite difficult to find them on sale.
I have a black backpack, and I have questions about it. X-PAC fabric, in addition to its positive qualities, very quickly begins to pile and attracts dust and animal hair. If you don’t want to constantly clean your backpack and the green color doesn’t bother you at all, choose it.
The shape of the backpack is classic: slightly narrower at the top and expanding towards the bottom. The volume of the backpack is 20 liters, but it feels like the volume is somewhere around 17-18 liters – including due to the dense fabric. For urban use, this is quite enough, but with trips, even short ones, additional bags may be required. The manufacturer in the range has a version with the prefix Max, which was created just for such a case.
The main compartment has a padded pocket for a 16″ laptop. If you do not like it or cause discomfort, then it can be removed by unfastening the adhesive tape.
In the same place, in the top part, the hidden pocket on a flypaper for cards or a cash. It is very difficult to get close to it, so it is worth thinking ten times what to place there. For travel – top, for daily use – flour.
Also in the main compartment are two zipped pockets and an open pocket for glasses or other small items. If you have a lot of equipment and accessories, you will need an additional organizer.
Outside, there is another large zipped pocket, where a 1.5-liter bottle of water, an umbrella or other items can be easily placed. At the top of the backpack is a flat pocket for a smartphone or wallet. Waterproof zipper so you don’t have to worry about the contents.
A-Frame Support System
A-Frame is the main feature of the backpack. A sling runs along the perimeter, which provides back support. No matter how many things you carry with you, no matter how you run or jump, the backpack always remains motionless. It is very convenient, and you quickly get used to it.
Straps can also be used for additional fastening of things. For example, you can attach a bicycle lock or an organizer to a carabiner.
The back and straps are very soft and ventilated. In theory, the air ducts will show themselves perfectly in the summer, when the back sweats profusely. There is a detachable chest strap for extra support.
Conclusion
The Able Carry Daily is a wonderful urban backpack made from quality materials and thoughtful support system. When I read the description on the manufacturer’s website, I was not completely sure that it works, but after a while I can say for sure that I would like to see more backpacks with such support.
