Dell has officially unveiled an updated series of professional laptops Precision. Announced Precision 7770, Precision 7670, and Precision 5470 Anniversary Edition laptops feature Intel Alder Lake-HX processors, up to 128GB of DDR5 RAM in a proprietary CAMM form factor , and NVIDIA RTX A-series and GeForce RTX 3080 professional graphics accelerators Ti.
Dell Precision laptops are designed to handle heavy workloads and very demanding applications such as virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence and machine learning, complex graphics programs, and digital content creation applications.
The flagship model Precision 7770 is ready to offer Intel Alder Lake-HX processors of Core i5, Core i7 and Core i9 models, including vPro versions of these chips. Core i9 chips have up to 16 physical cores. Intel has not yet officially introduced the processors of this series, so Dell does not indicate their characteristics. At the moment, only their nominal TDP is known, which is 55 watts.
As a graphics subsystem, the Precision 7770 laptop offers a choice of professional NVIDIA RTX series graphics cards up to the A5500 model with 16 GB of memory, or a gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with the same amount of GDDR6 memory. In addition, the laptop is ready to offer up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM in the form of proprietary CAMM modules , or up to 64 GB of DDR5 memory in the form of modules in the usual SO-DIMM format. In addition, the system allows you to install up to four PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs with a total capacity of up to 16 TB.
The Dell Precision 7770 is equipped with a 17.3-inch display that is available in multiple configurations. It can be a 1080p panel with a 60Hz refresh rate or a 4K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both options use WLED backlighting, comply with the VESA DisplayHDR 400 standard, have brightness up to 500 cd / m 2 and 99 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
The set of external interfaces of the novelty includes two Thunderbolt 4 (Type-C) connectors, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with an alternative DisplayPort function, two USB 3.2 Gen 1, an HDMI 2.0a + HDMI 2.1 combo connector, and a LAN connector. The laptop is claimed to support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless standards, as well as a battery up to 93 Wh. The weight of the laptop is 3.01 kg. The company provides a 5-year warranty for the novelty.
The Dell Precision 7670 offers the same choice of processors, graphics cards and RAM. The younger model, instead of four slots for PCIe 4.0 NVMe solid-state drives, received only three. Thus, the total amount of permanent memory for a laptop can be 12 TB.
Dell Precision 7670 is equipped with a 16-inch display. The choice of configurations is expanded with a panel with a resolution of 1200p, a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a brightness of 250 cd/m 2 , as well as an option in the form of an OLED panel with a resolution of 2400p, a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a brightness of 400 cd/m 2 .
The laptop also offers an optional NFC card reader, quick access to solid state drives, two noise canceling microphones and a Full HD infrared webcam.
In addition to the Precision 7670 and Precision 7770, Dell also announced the Precision 5470 Anniversary Edition laptop, which it is about to release on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Precision brand. This laptop will be available for sale for a limited time only in the US. The above Precision 7000 Series models should go on sale in the second quarter of this year. The manufacturer did not say anything about the cost of laptops.
