The Verkhovna Rada has registered a bill that proposes to return duties on cars imported into Ukraine for their own use.
People’s deputies complain that due to the abolition of paid customs clearance of cars, the budget lost 350 million hryvnias.
The page of the draft law No. 7311 appeared on the website of the Parliament.
In terms of customs payments, it is proposed to resume taxation:
- for goods imported by single tax payers of the first, second and third groups);
- for vehicles imported by citizens;
- for enterprises that do not pay import duties.
The authors of the bill drew attention to the fact that during the first week, as a result of the exemption from taxation of customs clearance of cars, excise tax and VAT, the budget did not receive 350 million hryvnias. The daily amount of benefits is more than UAH 100 million. During this time, more than 3 thousand cars were imported, cases of importing premium class cars without duty are not uncommon.
“There is support for this initiative, we will not delay it, therefore, I think we will consider it in the near future,” Danilo Getmantsev, head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, said in a commentary to Ukrainian News.
