Turkey hopes that the meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia – Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin – will be held in the coming days.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly made a corresponding proposal.
This was announced by Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, writes Anadolu .
According to him, Ankara has made a lot of efforts to cease fire. In particular, a meeting of ministers of all countries was held in Antalya, after which the President of Turkey met with Putin and Zelensky more than once.
“Although there are some difficulties, we hope that perhaps the two leaders will be able to meet in the coming days,” Akar said.
He added that Turkey will continue to make its mediation contribution both to improve the humanitarian situation, which is becoming more difficult every day, and for a complete ceasefire.
Recall, on April 26, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a conversation with Vladimir Putin, who started a barbaric war against Ukraine, during which he noted the importance of a ceasefire, the effective functioning of humanitarian corridors, safe evacuation, and again offered to hold his meeting with Zelensky in Istanbul.
