According to British intelligence, Ukraine retains control over most of its airspace. Russia failed to destroy the Ukrainian Air Force or suppress the air defense system.

Russian air activity is concentrated primarily in the south and east of Ukraine, providing cover for ground forces. Access to the airspace of northern and western Ukraine is limited, leaving room for remote strikes only.

“Most of the Russian air strikes on Mariupol are delivered by unguided bombs. These weapons reduce the ability of the Russian Federation to effectively distinguish between targets when striking, which increases the risk of civilian casualties,” the intelligence noted.
Recall that Russia is preparing a missile attack on the unrecognized Transnistria with casualties among the civilian population.
