Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said it was not yet clear whether embassy workers would work in Kyiv or Lviv.
The Canadian Embassy in Ukraine could reopen within days or weeks after officials shut it down earlier this year in response to Russia’s encroachment on sovereign democracy.
It is reported by Global News.
According to Melanie Joly, the goal is to be able to resume work as soon as possible.
“We are considering several scenarios,” she said.
According to the publication, the move could come against the backdrop of financing the reconstruction of Ukraine, and also as Russia has threatened in recent days to increase its targeting of “decision centers” in Kyiv.
Yesterday, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said the Canadian federal government would change its sanctions law to allow the redistribution of seized and sanctioned foreign assets to compensate victims or help rebuild a foreign nation after a war.
Recall that the British government has imposed a ban on the export to Russia of goods that can be used against the people of Ukraine. A decision was also made on preferential terms for Ukrainian goods: Great Britain reduced all import duties for products from Ukraine to zero and abolished quotas.
