Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak drew attention to the fact that Kyiv was shelled during the visit of UN Secretary General António Guterres.
Yermak called on the international community to deprive Russia of its right of veto in the UN Security Council.
He wrote about this in a telegram.
“(The shelling of Kyiv. – Ed.) This is proof that we need an early victory over the Russian Federation and the entire civilized world must unite around Ukraine. We must act quickly. More weapons, more efforts to resolve humanitarian issues, more help. After all, every day Ukraine pays a big price for protecting democracy and freedom, and we cannot lose in this fight,” Yermak said.
Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, also called for Russia to be stripped of its membership in the UN Security Council. He drew attention to the fact that the recent visit of Guterres to Moscow, most likely, will not bring results.
“The day before yesterday, António Guterres was sitting at a long table in the Kremlin, and today explosions are heard a kilometer away. A postcard from Moscow? Remind me why Russia still occupies a seat in the UN Security Council?” Podolyak wrote.
Recall that the occupiers delivered two blows to Kiev . The hits were in the Shevchenko district.
Earlier it was reported that on April 26, the UN Secretary General met with Vladimir Putin. On Wednesday, April 27, he met with Vladimir Zelensky. During his visit to Ukraine, Guterres visited Borodyanka near Kiev, which survived the Russian occupation.
