Big maneuvers: Britain will send about 8 thousand troops to Eastern Europe

Large-scale military exercises will be held on the territory from Finland to North Macedonia.

Tens of thousands of NATO troops and the Joint Expeditionary Force, which includes Finland and Sweden, will take part in enhanced military exercises in the summer of 2022.

It is reported by The Guardian with reference to British Defense Minister Ben Wallace.

The British Ministry of Defense said that these maneuvers were planned earlier, but they decided to increase the deployment due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February this year.

“The security of Europe has never been more important. In this exercise, our troops will join forces with NATO allies and partners and the Joint Expeditionary Force to demonstrate solidarity and strength in one of the largest joint deployments since the Cold War,” Ben said. Wallace.

The exercises will take place on the territory from Finland to North Macedonia. Some 8,000 British troops will be involved in maneuvers in Finland, which has a 1,309-kilometer land border with Russia.

Recall that Poland is preparing to begin military exercises on May 1 . Citizens were asked not to publish information and photos of troop movements and their whereabouts.
