For many years, Android smartphone owners have been actively using YouTube Vanced, an alternative YouTube viewing application that offers features that are not available in the official application and allows you to watch videos without ads. Today, the Vanced developers announced that the project will be closed in the near future, and the download links have been removed. And although already installed copies of the application will work for some time, this will not last indefinitely. The “legal reasons” indicated by the developers for closing the project may indicate that Google has found some way to put pressure on the authors. The creators of YouTube Vanced thanked the fans and promised that the Discord server, Telegram channel and subreddit will continue to exist for the time being.
