The Chinese company Gionee competed with OPPO and Vivo five years ago, but then its CEO lost all the company’s money in the casino (according to rumors, to himself, thereby robbing his native business), and she was on the verge of bankruptcy. For several years, Gionee was not heard at all, but then the company returned and began selling ultra-budget smartphones in different countries – from China to Nigeria, which most of the thematic media did not even write about. The other day the company introduced another smartphone in China, calling it the G13 Pro. It’s just a fake iPhone 13 with fairly basic specs (6.26″ HD+ screen, UNiSoC Tiger T310 chipset, 4+32/4+128 RAM, 13MP+dummy cameras, 5MP front camera, 3500mAh battery), but it hit in news feeds around the world.
Many sites have written about the Gionee G13 Pro as the first non-Huawei smartphone that runs on the Harmony OS operating system. Indeed, the Gionee G13 Pro runs Harmony OS with Huawei Mobile Services out of the box. However, this is far from the first smartphone in this status – a cursory search in Chinese online stores allowed us to find several Doov models (X40 Pro Max, X60 Pro Max, D60 Pro Max, X11, D13 Pro, D12), Newman (X13, X13 Pro , S13 Pro), Gaix (R30) and even Gionee itself (K13 Pro, Ti13) based on HarmonyOS. Almost all of them are fake smartphones of famous brands, and Doov even has a fake Huawei with Huawei OS. Thus, HarmonyOS has taken the place that was once occupied by YunOS – the operating system for ultra-budget smartphones from third-tier manufacturers who are unable to independently develop decent software for their crafts.
