Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba believes the Russian invasion was fueled by a security vacuum after Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons but subsequently failed to become a NATO member.
“Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons for the sake of world peace. Then we knocked on the door of NATO, but it never opened. The security vacuum led to Russian aggression. The world has an obligation to ensure the security of Ukraine, and we ask countries to decide what security guarantees they are ready to provide,” he tweeted .
Earlier, Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held an online meeting with the heads of diplomatic institutions of foreign states in Ukraine and presented the sanctions Action Plan of the McFaul-Yermak group .
