Overview meat grinder Kitfort KT-2108

Today we are testing the meat grinder Kitfort KT-2108. According to the manufacturer, this device in an all-metal case is equipped with a powerful motor and is capable of processing meat at a speed of 1.4 kg per minute.

It should be noted that this is not the first all-metal model from Kitfort: the previous KT-2102 received a very high rating from us, especially since it has a very eminent “sister” – similar to Caso FW2000 to indistinguishability. The heroine of this review inherited from her predecessor a matte metallic color, a strict appearance and a specific, rather rare type of nozzle attachment. Let’s see how she shows herself in the work.

Equipment

Meat grinder Kitfort KT-2108 arrived to us for testing in a rectangular box designed in the corporate style of the brand. On a black background, on the right is a vector image of the device itself, on the left is a funny slogan. Technical specifications and a brief description of the advantages of the model are printed on the side faces of the package.

Opening the box, inside we found:

The box weighing 6.3 kg is not equipped with a handle. The body and parts of the meat grinder are packed in plastic bags and located between two foam blocks, eliminating even the slightest movement of the device in the box during transportation.

At first sight

Even before unpacking the box, by weight and dimensions, we already understood that there was a serious device inside. Indeed, the silver all-metal design of the Kitfort KT-2108 meat grinder looks quite solid and solid, and the workmanship of all parts of the device and the accuracy of assembly inspire confidence.

On top of the body is a large round on / off and reverse control. Here we see the first really significant difference from the previous all-metal Kitfort model: there is only one speed.

The immobility of the meat grinder on the surface of the table is ensured not only by the weight of the motor unit (4.2 kg), but also by the presence of four rubberized legs, two of which are equipped with suction cups. In addition to the feet, there are vents on the bottom, a power cord outlet, cord storage, and a label with model number and technical information.

The neck is fixed in the hole intended for it in the front part of the motor block with the help of a latch in the form of a lever.

The connection materials of the drive shaft and the auger of the meat grinder are metal/metal.

The mouth, auger, knife and clamping ring and tray are made of high quality aluminum alloy. At the end of the auger, which mates with the socket in the housing, there is a removable part, which in its appearance is very reminiscent of a mechanical fuse (but nothing is said about this in the instructions).

The loading tray with a hole of 4 cm in diameter is fixed on the loading hole by aligning the recesses in the hole with similar ones on the loading block, due to which the part does not move and will not spin around the nozzle during operation.

Kitfort KT-2108 includes three gratings of different diameters. The thickness of the gratings is 4 mm. The diameter of the holes on the discs corresponds to the values u200bu200bof 2, 4 and 7 mm. The heavy stainless steel shaping discs, as well as the four-bladed blade, are perfectly sharpened and appear to be of good quality.

The accessory set also includes a pusher, a kebbe making kit and a long conical stuffing tube, all in glossy black plastic.

The manufacturer pleased us with a convenient, well-thought-out accessory storage system. In the Kitfort KT-2108 kit, among other things, we found a black plastic mold with recesses for all removable parts and a transparent lid that exactly repeats the shape of the loading tray, thereby turning it into a closed container for storing attachments. The only pity is that the transparent cover does not snap into place.

The assembly of the meat grinder is not a hassle, all removable parts are firmly held and at the same time can be easily removed.

Disassembly

We did not limit ourselves to external inspection and climbed inside the device. Behind the metal case was an electric motor with a fan impeller and a gearbox.

The motor information is as follows.

Judging by both the appearance and the fact that the markings almost completely match, this is the same motor that was used in the Kitfort KT-2102 .

The plastic gearbox houses three metal gears and a drive shaft. The amount of lubricant seems to be sufficient. The design of the gearbox looks very similar to the previous model, which is good news – our testers rated it very highly.

Instruction

The manual for the meat grinder is presented in the form of a 14-page A5 brochure in the traditional Kitfort white and purple cover.

The document contains all the necessary information about the device, safety measures, instructions for assembly, operation and maintenance of the device. Each stage of work with Kitfort KT-2108 is described step by step and supplemented with detailed illustrations. In the sections describing the preparation of sausages and kebbe there are a couple of recipes.

Control

Since only one speed is provided in the meat grinder, the control is elementary. The rotary control on the top panel of the motor unit is responsible for turning on, off and, if necessary, starting the reverse motion – reverse mode. It can come in handy if the meat grinder has stalled.

Exploitation

Before the first use, we washed all parts of the meat grinder with warm water and a mild detergent, and greased the grates separately with vegetable oil.

The device is assembled and disassembled very simply. All parts fit tightly to each other and are well fixed on the motor block.

During its use, Kitfort KT-2108 proved to be an excellent powerful device, ready to process with ease both tender chicken fillet and problem stringy beef. Whatever product we loaded into the meat grinder, it instantly disappeared in the neck. Speed, convenience, efficiency and quality of product processing – absolutely everything is on top.

In none of the tests, in the finished minced meat, we did not find unground pieces. Reverse, by the way, did not have to be included even once. In general, no difficulties were identified during the work. Everything happened quickly, simply, but really loudly, this cannot be taken away. Like many other meat grinders, the device is seriously noisy during operation, but given that it grinds food instantly, you can tolerate it. The maximum time of continuous operation of the device is 5 minutes. As our tests have shown, in 5 minutes Kitfort KT-2108 can turn 7-7.5 kg of pork into minced meat.

When performing complex tests, the meat grinder stood firmly on its four small legs, did not vibrate and did not move along the surface of the table. The height of the neck allows you to place quite large dishes under it, the capacity can be up to 13 cm in height.

Care

Caring for a meat grinder is as simple as operating. As always, all parts of the appliance that come into contact with food should be washed immediately after use, in warm water and a mild detergent. We did not find any information about using a dishwasher to wash parts, but from experience, we assume that it is impossible. The washed grates and the knife should be wiped dry, greased with vegetable oil, wrapped in a napkin and placed in a plastic bag, put in a storage tray.

Our measurements

Measurements of energy consumption during the operation of the meat grinder were made using a wattmeter. The maximum consumption was:

  • 280 W – pork leg
  • 373 W – third grade beef
  • 287 W – turkey fillet
  • 263 W – oranges
  • 198 W in reverse mode
  • 218 W idle

In none of the tests, we did not exceed the recommended time of continuous operation (5 minutes) and, accordingly, the device did not overheat and block. During the entire time of operation, the meat grinder did not heat up, there were no extraneous odors and strange sounds.

Standard testing according to iXBT.com methodology

Our testing of meat grinders always starts with minced pork. And this time, we did not change the traditions – we took 1.5 kg of pork ham without bones, films and a large amount of fat and scrolled it through a grate with large holes.

The meat, cut into strips freely passing through the opening of the neck, lay in the tray in order to send it to the meat grinder as quickly as possible.

The ham was ground without any problems in 60 seconds. The iXBT performance factor for the Kitfort KT-2108 was 1.5 kg/min, very close to the claimed 1.4 kg/min.

The stuffing turned out perfectly chopped and crumbly. About 15 grams of unprocessed meat and one small vein remained behind the knife.

Result: excellent.

Stringy beef mince

For this test, we used third grade stringy beef. The meat grinder processed complex meat with the same ease as pork, but already a little slower. The noise level did not change during operation, the device did not vibrate, the meat came out in an even stream and did not get stuck.

The meat grinder coped with 1 kg of beef in 55 seconds. At the end of the process, about 25 grams of meat and a couple of unground veins remained behind the knife.

Result: excellent.

Turkey zrazy with cheese

In 50 seconds, 700 g of turkey fillet turned into minced meat, to which we added chopped herbs, salt and black pepper.

Thoroughly kneaded and installed a kebbe nozzle instead of a grate with small holes. Minced meat was placed on the tray and the meat grinder was turned on.

The stuffing came out of the nozzle in the form of tubes at an average speed, so there was no need to be distracted by turning off the device. With one hand they held a creeping tube, with the other they periodically pushed the minced meat into the neck with the help of a pusher. We cut the workpiece of the required size with a knife and put it on a plate nearby. At the end of the work, about 35 g of minced meat remained behind the nozzle. From it, two more zrazy were already manually molded. Pre-sliced cheese sticks were packed into the resulting tubes and, after sealing them around the edges, they were sent to the pan.

Everything turned out pretty quickly and most importantly, delicious.

Result: excellent.

orange with peel

We cut the oranges into small pieces and put them through the middle rack.

A kilogram of fruit was ground in 1 minute 20 seconds. Orange minced meat turned out to be homogeneous, without large pieces of peel. During operation, the meat grinder did not splash, it was clean around the bowl. About 20 g of skins remained behind the bars.

Result: excellent.

findings

Meat grinder Kitfort KT-2108 demonstrated excellent work, the results of which can not even be faulted. The device pleases with power, efficiency and ease of use. It is also worth noting a stable all-metal case, the presence of three grilles of different diameters and an additional bonus – a nice tray for storing accessories. For fast and high-quality processing of products, this meat grinder is ideal.

In fact, the Kitfort KT-2108 is a single speed version of the Kitfort KT-2102 (which in turn is a complete duplicate of the Caso FW2000). And this is all, we recall, the models that we consider to be among the best in the home meat grinder sector. And given the fact that the situation with the products of Western brands in the domestic market is now developing, to put it mildly, difficult, the attractiveness of this device only grows from this.
