The director wrote the script for the line 10 years ago. In 2012, Oleg Sentsov’s idea went through a competitive selection of film projects, winning the financial support from Derzhkino. You can imagine that the film in its own way romanticizes the image of thirty years ago, creating the atmosphere in which the director’s youth passed. Do we need such stories now? Behind the words of Oleg Sentsov, it was important for you to debunk all the myths and spawn the very Ukrainian cinema about the 90s. And it’s true, the world is often told with a special sentimentality, and similar criminal plots are rarely used by Russian cinematographers. In our country, until this hour, there were no full-length lines, as if they were talking about restless realities, in such a panuvav racket.

In the film, the staging of the scene is most memorable, as if it were guiltily showing different periods from the life of one family. The Polish cameraman Bogumil Godfrejov helped Sentsov to realize the director’s foldable idea – the camera collapses on a stake in the very same booth, and in the frame the pods change, the months pass, the characters go through the stages.
