In the Kyiv region, a team of DTEK workers was sent to restore power supply to the ruined city without first clearing the road of mines. As a result, cars were blown up, one man died, two more were seriously injured.
This was announced on April 29 on Facebook by the son of the victim Artem Vakalyuk.
He is outraged – how the road in the Makarovsky district, along which special vehicles travel, turned out to be mined . The man stressed that the explosion did not occur in the field, but right on the road.
“How can you allow people repairing critical facilities to drive along a road that has not been properly checked by sappers? … in one working day, my father’s team manages to repair and connect 3-4-5 spans between poles of 150 meters each maximum. That is, you need to make sure that the section along which the electricians will travel, from 500 meters to a kilometer long, is safe and cleared of mines! Only 1 kilometer!” he wrote.
The son of the victim suggested that the tragedy occurred due to the fact that workers are constantly being urged on, because the president was promised to connect the entire Kiev region to electricity by the end of May . So they “drive” faster, neglecting the safety rules , along non-mine roads, the man explained. He believes that the sappers simply did not have time to do their job .
“How many more cars of highly qualified employees must fly into the air, how many more wives will receive news of the death or injury of their men? … in pursuit of the deadlines, you simply lose these people! In an already peaceful territory! Far from hostilities!” Vakalyuk added.
Recall that all roads in the Kyiv region have already been cleared of debris and debris. But demining the entire de – occupied territory of the Kiev region may take about a year . The Kyiv OVA plans to complete the main activities on settlements and roads by the end of May.
