Vivo held a big spring presentation, the key novelty of which was the Vivo X Fold, the brand’s first foldable smartphone. The company was clearly in no hurry to launch it, and now it became clear why: the goal was to create a device that would not just become “one of”, but would surpass other competitors in both cameras and screens. So, both the external and internal displays are AMOLED E5 panels with a dynamic frequency of 1 to 120 Hz and built-in ultrasonic finger scanners. The internal diagonal is 8.03″ with an aspect ratio of 4:3.55 and a resolution of 2160 x 1916 pixels. The panel is protected by UTG-coating and can be fixed at angles from 60 to 120 degrees. The declared safety margin of the hinge is 300,000 folds. External 6.53″ the screen has a 21:9 aspect ratio at FHD+ resolution.
The second strongest aspect of the Vivo X Fold is the cameras. This is an advanced set that outperforms all foldable competitors on the market. It was co-created with Zeiss and includes a 50MP Samsung GN5 main sensor with OIS, a 48MP wide lens, a 12MP portrait lens, and an 8MP periscope with 5x optical zoom and OIS.
Responsible for autonomy is a 4600 mAh battery with 66 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. In addition, Vivo X Fold became the brand’s first smartphone to receive a physical sound mode switch on the end (as in iPhone and OnePlus). To emphasize the premiumness of the device, the leather covering of the lid, which is offered in black and blue colors, is called upon. The Vivo X Fold will hit Chinese shelves on April 22 at the following prices: 8999 and 9999 yuan for the 12/256 and 12/512 GB versions, respectively.
