The Xiaomi Mix 4 , unveiled last summer, marks the next big step in the company’s journey to create a full-screen smartphone. A new representative of the Mix series is also expected this year – however, we are talking exclusively about the second model with a folding screen. According to @UniverceIce, the company has decided to focus on developing the foldable concept this time around, postponing the Mix 5 to next year. According to WhyLab, the Mix Fold 2 could be the world’s first foldable smartphone in both directions: both outward and inward. At least, this is how you can interpret the line “reversed folded device states” in the manufacturer’s source codes.
At the core, Android 12L is expected, which will provide smooth interface transitions between screens. At the moment, the device is known as “22061218C” and is expected to be released in June. However, the implementation of such a complex concept in the coming months looks unlikely, and early rumors pointed rather to a slight upgrade of the first Mix Fold with a slightly more square aspect ratio.
