Before the war, Svitlana Barda bred dogs in the village of Berezivka near Kyiv.
And when her village was captured by Russian troops, the woman realized she needed to leave. After all, after two weeks of Russian occupation, the four-legged animals ran out of food.
Learning about the green corridor, she loaded the dogs into a bus and went all the way to Rivne region. The journey was long and exhausting. On the way, Svitlana was checked at checkpoints to make sure she was transporting dogs.
In the Rivne region, a woman and a group of animals were sheltered by acquaintances. Despite the warm welcome, both the dogs and their owner dream of returning home soon.
