Turkey has refused to participate in NATO exercises to be held in Greece.
The dispute continues between the countries over maritime and air borders. Athens regularly accuses Ankara of violating the country’s airspace with its warplanes. This time, Turkey accused Greece of changing the airspace delimitation in its favor.
This was reported by the Turkish TV channel NTV .
It is noted that the exercise “Encounter with the Tiger” is held annually in different countries to emphasize the solidarity of the participating countries. This year they are planned to be held in Greece from 9 to 20 May.
However, according to the Turkish media, Greece has prepared the technical regulations necessary for implementation by all states before each exercise. However, Athens made additions regarding Turkey, “speculating on the conflict between the two countries.”
Despite the fact that the command of the Turkish Air Force demanded to change the regulations, Greece did not accept Turkey’s demands. As a result, Ankara eventually withdrew from the exercise.
Recall, earlier it was reported that three sea mines have already been destroyed in Turkey, and anti-mine hunter ships, helicopters, maritime patrol aircraft and underwater defense groups are on alert.
