The National Guard reported that on May 1, not all civilians were able to leave Azovstal and are still in the bunkers of the plant.
Immediately after the completion of the evacuation of civilians, the Russian invaders resumed shelling of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol. Prior to the evacuation, the invaders observed a ceasefire for two days.
The commander of the 12th operational brigade of the National Guard Denis Shleg spoke about this on the air of a nationwide telethon.
Currently, the Russians are shelling the plant with various types of weapons.
According to him, several hundred more civilians remained in the Azovstal bunkers, including about twenty children.
“We also really want our wounded, who now number about 500 people, to leave the territory of Azovstal. We want our dead guys to be taken from Azovstal. This is also a very large number,” Shlega said.
Recall that on Sunday, May 1, it was possible to start evacuating people from Azovstal. The first evacuees will arrive in Zaporozhye on the morning of May 2.
