The international military exercises Defender Europe 2022 and Swift Response have started in Poland. They will last from May 1 to May 26 in Poland and 8 other countries.

This was reported by the Ministry of National Defense of Poland.

In addition to Poland, troops from the USA, France, Sweden, Germany, Denmark and Great Britain will take part in the exercises. In total, 18,000 military personnel from more than 20 countries will take part in them. In particular, about 7,000 soldiers and 3,000 pieces of equipment are located on the territory of Poland.

“Defender Europe 22 is an international general and regular exercise organized by the US military to ensure readiness and interoperability between US and NATO allies and partners,” the Polish Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Poland explained that DE22 and SR 22 belong to a series of cyclic defensive exercises, are not directed at any country and are not related to the current geopolitical situation in the region. The national and international planning process started in 2021.

Recall that Poland will not support any peace agreement on the surrender of Ukraine to Russia.
