According to military expert Vladislav Seleznev, a Russian landing in Odessa is unlikely.
The number of occupant ships in the Black Sea may be a threat to Ukraine.
Military expert Vladislav Seleznev spoke about this in an exclusive interview with OBOZREVATEL.
“I look at the map and understand that technically there are no technical possibilities for conducting a sea and air assault to block our units in the Odessa region, so that later the Russian army could advance towards Transnistria. Because the Moskva missile cruiser has been destroyed, the air defense system, which could work as an umbrella to cover the actions of the naval group of Russian ships and submarines, it has been destroyed. There are no other options to cover the actions of this group in Russia. Although, of course, 20 ships and submarines is quite a serious force, “the expert says.
He adds that he is not yet ready to talk about the condition of the two large landing ships that were damaged during the Ukrainian attack on the Saratov large landing ship, which was sunk in the bay in Berdyansk.
“There was information that they were being repaired. Whether they were repaired or not is still unknown. But in any case, thanks to the help of our Western partners, reconnaissance aircraft are constantly watching the sky and sea on the traverse of Crimea. Any movements of Russian ships will not be a secret. The only exceptions are Submarines of the “Varshavyanka” class. They can move secretly. This is the biggest evil, they have “Caliber” – 4 on each. It is not yet clear how to deal with them. The only option is to track them in the bays of Sevastopol and cover them there. We are waiting for the appropriate missiles from our Western partners, which will allow us to destroy submarines in bays,” Seleznev said.
Recall that on April 28, the German Bundestag supported the provision of heavy weapons to Ukraine. Both the opposition and the coalition voted for this decision.
