122 dead Russian military and the destruction of a reconnaissance drone: what is the situation in southern Ukraine

In the Kherson region, an attempt by an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group to capture a Ukrainian observation post was thwarted.

The current operational situation in the south of Ukraine on the evening of May 2 became known.

This was reported by the operational command “South” in a message on Facebook.

  • During the day, the enemy, entrenched in defensive positions, did not conduct active operations in the Kherson and Nikolaev regions.
  • However, Mykolaiv and the surrounding areas were fired upon by multiple rocket launchers. Again the enemy was preparing for industrial facilities. Fortunately, no casualties.
  • In the Kherson region, an attempt by an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group to capture our observation post was suppressed by mortar fire and thwarted.
  • At the same time, more than a hundred fire missions were accurately completed by Ukrainian rocket and artillery units.
  • As a result, the total losses of the enemy per day are 122 military
  • And in addition to the two assault boats shot down at dawn, several more armored and automotive vehicles and an Forpost-type strike reconnaissance drone were added, which tried to enter Odessa from the sea. It was destroyed by a well-aimed work of air defense.
  • Having hit the Odessa region twice with rockets today, the enemy continued to destroy the bridge across the Dniester estuary, hit by Yakhont cruise missiles.
  • And from the occupied Crimea, an Onyx rocket fired from the Bastion complex destroyed a residential building in Odessa itself. A 15-year-old child died , another minor was taken to the hospital with a wound.
  • The ship grouping of the Russian Black Sea Fleet continues maneuvering in the northwestern part of the sea and maintains the threat of missile strikes at a high level.
  • Extended curfew in Odessa continues. Thanks to the measures taken, including effective counter-sabotage work, the 8th anniversary of the tragic events of May 2, 2014 passed without provocations and gross violations of public order.
