The secretary and member of the so-called “Committee for the Salvation of the Kherson Region” was informed of suspicion due to cooperation with the occupiers .

This was reported by the press service of the Kiev City Prosecutor’s Office.

“Two residents of the Kherson region have been informed of suspicion of collaborating with the aggressor state, organizing and holding political events in support of the actions of the occupying authorities (part 6 of article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the report says.

According to the materials of the pre-trial investigation, during the occupation of the city of Kherson by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, a 54-year-old resident of Kherson and a 63-year-old resident of the Kherson region entered into a criminal conspiracy with representatives of the aggressor state and voluntarily agreed to cooperate with them.

The suspects were directly involved in the creation of an illegal formation in the temporarily occupied territory called the Committee for the Salvation of the Kherson Region “For Peace and Order”. During the meeting of this committee, they supported the vote for supporting the actions of the occupation administration of the aggressor state. Also at this meeting, the suspect was elected secretary of the committee .

Earlier, in the framework of this criminal proceeding, the prosecutor’s office reported suspicion to another member of the Kherson Region Salvation Committee – a deputy of the Kherson City Council from the political party Block Balance.

The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a period of 10 to 12 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of 10 to 15 years and with or without confiscation of property.
