Due to the full-scale war unleashed by Russia on the territory of Ukraine, not only civilians suffer, but animals.
While Russian troops are shelling Ukrainian cities, volunteers are risking their lives to save animals from the hot spots of the country.
Activists from UAnimals on their Instagram page told how dogs were evacuated from Kramatorsk – 55 adult animals and 33 puppies. Some of the dogs were transported to Alexandria and Ivano-Frankivsk, other dogs were sent to European shelters.

“The first thing we encountered was discarded animals: thoroughbred, outbred, left on a chain, in closed apartments. The war showed our irresponsible attitude towards animals – from laws to every ordinary person who cannot understand why sterilization is needed We need to change something, otherwise we will always be in such a mess, we will always have a large number of homeless animals,” says Natalya Titomir, a deputy of the Kramatorsk City Council.
Volunteers of Kramatorsk urge the residents of the city not to be indifferent to homeless animals and to feed them in these difficult times.
“Leave food and water for street animals, tell stories on your social media pages, tag us and inspire others to do good deeds. Your desire to help animals motivates us to continue our work. Thank you for your support,” UAnimals added.
