French President Emmanuel Macron on May 3 had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The topic of more than two hours of conversation was Ukraine.
This is Macron ‘s first conversation with Putin on March 29, after information appeared about the atrocities of Russian invaders in the suburbs of Kiev and after the re-election of the French leader for a second presidential term.
The conversation was announced at the Elysee Palace, writes Le Parisien.
According to the Kremlin, Putin told Macron about Russia’s position in negotiations with Ukraine and assured that the state was “open to dialogue,” despite “Kyiv’s unpreparedness for serious work.” The head of the Kremlin also once again accused the Ukrainian troops of committing war crimes, and the European Union of “ignoring” them.
Recall that on the eve of Macron, in a telephone conversation with President Volodymyr Zelensky, he confirmed France’s readiness to become the guarantor of Ukraine’s security .
