The situation at Azovstal in Mariupol, which Russian troops began to actively storm on May 3, is very difficult. The first attempts of the invaders to storm the city were unsuccessful, but now there is an understanding that the Russian leadership plans are changing.
It is possible to talk about the chances of the defenders to resist at Azovstal only if you see with your own eyes what is really happening there.
This was told by military expert Alexander Musienko on the air of Channel 24.
“The situation is extremely complicated. For the first time, the occupiers tried to storm Azovstal the day before. On the same day that Putin seemed to give the order not to do this. But we know that Russian officials really often frankly lie ,” the expert said.
He also noted that the first attempts of the invaders to storm Mariupol were unsuccessful.
“However, now there is an understanding that the plans of the Russian leadership are changing,”
– Musienko said, explaining that the Kremlin sees that before May 9, at least some “victories” must be submitted.
According to the military expert, it is necessary to restore communication channels with the UN and the Red Cross and try to make every effort to cease fire and storm the plant.
“I am convinced that such agreements have been reached, but Russia is once again brutally destroying and violating them. This is where the big difficulties are at the moment,” he added.
Recall that on May 3, Russian invaders launched a powerful assault on Azovstal in Mariupol. Ukrainian defenders are asking the authorities to intervene and resolve this issue.
