The UK also continues to accept Ukrainian refugees on its territory.
Britain pledges another $375 million in military aid to Ukraine
Reuters writes about it.
The UK has said it will provide £300m ($375m) of military assistance to Ukraine, including electronic warfare equipment and a counter-battery radar system, in addition to an estimated £200m of aid.
Britain sent more than 5,000 anti-tank missiles and five air defense systems, as well as other munitions and explosives, to Ukraine after the February 24 Russian invasion.
The United States has also provided $3 billion in military aid to Ukraine, and last week President Joe Biden asked the US Congress to approve more than $20 billion in military support.
Russia said last week that NATO countries are actually engaging in a proxy war by providing arms to Ukraine, where it claims it is conducting a “special operation” to disarm the country and ostensibly get rid of anti-Russian nationalism fueled by the West.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s office said the UK would offer night vision goggles, satellite navigation jamming tools, heavy drones to resupply Ukrainian troops and armored vehicles for civilian officials.
Johnson intends to address the Ukrainian parliament on May 3 via video link.
“Your children and grandchildren will say that the Ukrainians have taught the world that the brute strength of an aggressor means nothing against the moral strength of a people who have decided to be free,” Johnson plans to say, according to a speech excerpt provided by his office.
While Britain has provided significant military assistance, it has received, in respect of a few, more than 5 million Ukrainians who have left their country. As of last week, the UK government said it had issued 86,100 visas to Ukrainians, of which 27,100 arrived in the UK.
