Since Ukrainians are taken to Russia without documents, they cannot yet leave from there to other states.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, is developing a solution that will allow Ukrainians forcibly taken to the Russian Federation to obtain certificates from foreign consulates in the territory of the Russian Federation.
This was stated on May 3 on the air of the informational telethon by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova.
“Since Ukrainians are taken to Russia without documents, how can they then get to another state. We need a return permit. Who should give it – the consul. We have no diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation,” she said.
According to Denisova, now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation are holding very important negotiations with embassies that could provide these certificates on the territory of the Russian Federation.
“That is, to provide consular services to our citizens, this is very important. Because we certainly do there, gradually provide the opportunity for our citizens to move, communicating with my colleagues, ombudsmen, with consular institutions in other states: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania,” Denisova said. .
Recall that Russia has been preparing for the mass deportation of Ukrainians since the beginning of the year.
