A journalist, war correspondent Alexander Makhov died from shelling by Russian invaders.
He fought in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Izyum region.

Oleksandr worked for many years on the channels “Ukraine” and “Ukraine 24” and covered events on the front line. In October 2021, Makhov switched to the Dom channel.
After the start of full-scale Russian aggression, the journalist went to the front.
“I am a veteran and a reservist and I am going to war. The time for a liberation war has come! I will fight and kill as much as I can. I serve the Ukrainian people!” Makhov wrote on Facebook.
Alexander Makhov – a participant in hostilities, led the podcast “Voyenkor”. In 2020, he became the only representative of the Ukrainian media on board the aircraft that carried out the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from Wuhan.
Recall that on April 28, journalist Vera Girich died in Kiev as a result of a Russian airstrike. An enemy missile hit the journalist’s apartment building. The woman lay under the rubble of the house all night, and her body was not found until the next morning.
