There are hundreds more civilians at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, among them more than 30 children.
The mayor of the city, Vadim Boychenko, said that Russian troops do not stop shelling the plant with everything they have.
The mayor of Mariupol spoke about this on the air of the telethon “United News” on Wednesday, May 4.
“Today there is a local population, there are hundreds of them. They came to this fortress two months ago, hid there and are waiting for rescue. There are also children there. There are more than 30 children who expect a new negotiation procedure to evacuate the civilian population “, – he said.
The mayor added that today more than 100,000 locals remain under siege by the invaders.
In addition, Boychenko expressed hope that today’s “green corridor” will work and civilians will find themselves in safe areas.
Recall that the other day we managed to evacuate 156 civilians from the plant. Now Azovstal is being stormed by the Russian military. The civilians hiding there say: there are a huge number of dead and wounded.
