A little over five years ago, in 2016, Google launched YouTube Go, an alternative video hosting app designed for low-end, budget devices that can’t handle standard YouTube. Now Google has unexpectedly announced that YouTube Go will soon be discontinued. This will happen in August, in connection with which the company urged users to install the regular version of YouTube or switch to the browser version. The company explains this by saying that over the years a lot of work has been done to optimize the standard YouTube application, which will now not only work smoothly, but also not load traffic at low speeds. By the way, earlier Google got to the authors of YouTube Vanced, forcing them to stop development.
