Today is International Day of the Midwife. Congratulations doctors!
And today there is a war going on in Ukraine. And, unfortunately, children appear in conditions of mortal danger. New life appears where the infidels sow death, appears, no matter what.
This story has become one of many in a series about the courage of Ukrainian doctors , their desperation and heroism during the war.
Our heroine is the senior midwife of the KNP “Maternity Hospital” of the Chernihiv City Council Vera Tselik. She was able to take care of newborns in one of the cities that survived the hell, the Ministry of Health said .
From the first day of the war and during the 46 days of horror, gunshots, lack of communication, the midwife organized the work of the maternity ward of the hospital in the bomb shelter, took birth (during the hostilities in the bomb shelter) and supported women in childbirth.
All the time the doctor lived in a medical facility.
During this time, in the city where death was sown, 136 children were born in the maternity hospital, including two doubles and three triplets.
In addition, 22 children with low weight during the war went out in special boxes, where the life of the baby is supported.
Due to constant shelling and explosions, there was no electricity in the city, but the generators were working.
Vera is one of the thousands of faces of Ukrainian courage during the war, tired, but courageous and rebellious.
Recall that as a result of artillery shelling of Chernihiv, which the Russian army once again committed on March 13, an enemy shell hit the premises of the city hospital No. 3. He completely destroyed the X-ray department.
As previously reported, more than 700 dead and 40 missing – such statistics of victims of Russian shelling were voiced by the mayor of Chernigov, Vladislav Atroshenko, but these are previous figures. For a week now, the city has not heard shelling. In many places there is not enough light and water, there remains a difficulty with food. Due to the destroyed bridges and roads, it became extremely difficult to get to the city.
