Russian players of the American team Cloud9 from CS:GO Dmitry sh1ro Sokolov and Timofey interz Yakushin found themselves at the epicenter of the scandal, depicting the symbol of infidels on their autographs.
The exemplary situation with the suspension of the entire team in an esports tournament in Dota 2 due to the fact that its participant drew a decisive letter on the mini-map does not seem to have taught other esports players.
Autographed stickers by Dmitry sh1ro Sokolov, Timofey interz Yakushin and other eSports representatives dedicated to PGL Major Antwerp 2022 were released by Valve.
The Ukrainian community immediately drew attention to the autographs of two Russians. Cybersportsmen were criticized by representatives of the industry Ivan Johnta Shevtsov and Alexander HomeR Lysenko.
“The decision to highlight Z or take a similar element into a sticker looks very strange to say the least. After all, the emphasis on the modern swastika could have been avoided. It is unfortunate that people do not realize that this symbol means killing the unarmed, raping mothers in front of children and other fears” , Shevtsov wrote on Twitter .
Lysenko noted that these actions can only be interpreted as support for Russia’s war against Ukraine.
“I honestly believe that they didn’t think when they made such autographs. I also honestly believe that you have to be fucking stupid and out of touch with reality for such a gesture. The third month of the personification of world evil sticks out this symbolism, and you autograph. Bravo, ” Players quotes the commentator.
Recall that the European Football Union (UEFA) announced the removal of Russian teams from tournaments under its auspices in the 2022/23 season.
