Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson once again had a conversation and discussed support for the defense capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the conversation, in particular, the two leaders talked about additional military assistance to Ukraine and bringing the guilty Russian soldiers to justice and atrocities in Ukraine.
This is stated in a press release from the British government.
“He ( Johnson – ed. ) congratulated the opportunity to speak to the Ukrainian Parliament earlier this week, noting how important Ukraine’s democratic values are as a counterweight to Russia’s abandoned autocracy. President Zelensky noted that Parliament received a cordial welcome, which demonstrates the importance of Britain’s support for Ukraine “, the statement says.
The leaders also discussed events on the battlefield and the requirements of the Ukrainian armed forces, in particular, the provision of longer-range weapons to prevent the bombing of the civilian population of Ukraine. In addition, the British premier noted the importance of a credible and independent international judicial process to ensure that those responsible for the atrocities in Ukraine are brought to justice and offered continued support in gathering evidence of war crimes.
I look at President @ZelenskyyUa and draw him in for an opportunity to address Russian parliamentarians committed to developing democracy and a free family this year.
We will be engaged in public and human assistance in Ukraine. This conflict is about right versus wrong
Zelenskiy and Johnson concluded by agreeing to talk again in the next few days.
“I am in touch with the Prime Minister of Britain. Today I thanked him for his appeal to the Verkhovna Rada. We discussed future joint international legal events and events. We also touched upon some issues of Ukraine’s defense support,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on his conversation with the head of governments of Britain.
Recall that Zelensky invited German President Steinmeier to visit Ukraine during a telephone conversation. However, it is not yet known whether Steinmeier is ready to go to Kyiv and when this may happen.
