Russia’s massive lies in the international arena about its aggression against Ukraine goes beyond human understanding and common sense.
US Permanent Representative Linda Thomas-Greenfield stated this during a meeting of the UN Security Council, Ukrinform writes.
“Russia has repeatedly lied in the UN Security Council, spread conspiracy theories and disinformation, and each time these lies have become more and more,” the representative of the United States emphasized.
Only three months ago, Russia’s envoy to the UN claimed that his country was not going to break into Ukraine, and now Russia is saying that the invasion never happened.
“They even claim that Ukraine is attacking itself, dropping bombs on its buildings, its people and attacking its democracy. This lie is contrary to any logic, common sense. Russia is engaged in pure disinformation,” added Thomas-Greenfield.
The diplomat is convinced that the truth is very well known to everyone: it is the Kremlin that is the only culprit of the war in Ukraine.
“It is so difficult to understand why some members of the Security Council continue to call on “all parties” (including Ukraine – ed.) to refrain from hostilities. Let’s be clear: it is Russia that needs to be urged to stop its aggression against Ukraine,” the US representative summed up.
Recall that the UN Security Council is now discussing the problems of protecting the civilian population and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine and in the context of Russian aggression in the framework of the recently adopted agenda of the Republic of Belarus for 2022 “Support for Peace and Security of Ukraine”.
