Major Chinese display maker Huaxing Photoelectric Technology (a subsidiary of TCL) has unveiled its all-new LCD panels designed to bridge the gap with conventional OLED displays. The main feature of the screen, which was not previously present in panels of this type, is the dynamic screen refresh rate.
Everyone knows that the latest generation of OLED panels have the ability to automatically adjust the refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, depending on the type of content displayed and the user’s actions in the system. As for LCD matrices, the ability to switch the screen hertz when specific usage scenarios are detected was implemented. For example, in Redmi K30S Supreme Edition, the screen can change its frequency between seven different values ranging from 30 to 144 Hz.
Huaxing Photoelectric has taken this a step further by introducing a liquid crystal LCD display capable of changing its refresh rate from 15 to 144 Hz. But the company did not specify in what step this switch occurs. However, this should help reduce power consumption in certain scenarios, such as when reading text, when there is no need for a quick screen refresh.
Most likely, the first display of the new generation will be Redmi Note 11T Pro, the presentation of which is expected soon.
