Russian President Vladimir Putin constantly uses nuclear weapons as part of a hybrid war against the civilized world.

The Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council explained why the Kremlin dictator constantly threatens with the “red button”.

It is noted that the policy of nuclear blackmail is an old “game” for restraint from Putin. All his “heroic” conquests were accompanied by threats to the civilized world.

“Putin boasts of this weapon as an indulgence to expand his influence under the motto “why do we need such a world if there is no Russia,” the National Security and Defense Council noted.

Russian propagandists have created a “nuclear psychosis” and almost half of the population of the Russian Federation wants to be the first to launch a tactical nuclear strike on Ukraine.

Since Khrushchev’s time, nuclear war has been contained by a strategy of mutually assured destruction. With Putin coming to power, tactical nuclear weapons are a key element of the nuclear escalation “de-escalation” doctrine, the Center for Counteracting Disinformation explains.

Military exercises “West” are constantly working out tactical nuclear strikes in the direction of Poland and the United States. Since 2000, the concept of Russian national security has included tactical nuclear strikes in local wars. So, in 2009, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Patrushev suggested the use of nuclear weapons against non-nuclear states. In 2014, Putin threatened a nuclear attack if Western military forces attempted to intervene.

“However, the public denial of a nuclear attack by Russia now may indicate a low probability of the use of these weapons,” the National Security and Defense Council said.

Earlier, the head of the CIA commented on whether there is a threat of a Russian nuclear attack on Ukraine .
