Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with the head of the German Bundestag, Berbel Bas, who arrived in the capital.
Shmygal discussed strategically important areas of cooperation with Berbel Bass : weapons, sanctions, finances and the European perspective.
This was reported by the Government portal.
As noted, Shmygal welcomed the decision of the Bundestag to provide Ukraine with heavy weapons. According to him, it is this type of weaponry that can help protect Ukrainian and European borders.
“We hope that Germany, as one of the largest arms exporters, can promptly help and resolve the issue of providing Ukraine with a sufficient number of high-quality weapons,” he said.
Shmygal and Bass also discussed the problems of Ukrainian agricultural exports.
“The war today is not only in Ukraine. In hybrid ways, Russia is also waging war in Europe. The energy crisis that she started last year, the migration crisis that she wanted to cause with atrocities and the killing of civilians in Ukraine, the food crisis that she is now leading to the blocking of our ports and the destruction of grain storage,” the head of government said.
Recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson once again had a conversation and discussed support for the defense capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the conversation, in particular, the two leaders talked about additional military assistance to Ukraine and bringing the guilty Russian soldiers to justice for the atrocities in Ukraine.
