The eighth morning, and the students of the Uzhgorod University are already on their way. Conscience does not allow you to oversleep, because the teacher turns on right from the front.

Professor Fyodor Shandor signed up for the terrorist defense on the first day of a full-scale invasion, but did not miss a single lecture. His words are sometimes muffled by explosions, and he laughs off his bandaged hand. “The professor does not know how to dig with a shovel, but now he already knows how …”, the man laughs.

“There is something… in the soul that a person is at war there and it’s scary, but he is so positive, you look at him and it becomes easier,” says student Timeya Solonchak, almost in tears.

In one hand is a smartphone, in the other a machine gun – a professor at the forefront. He says he did not want students to interrupt courses in the middle of the semester, because there is no replacement for him at the university. “I teach special disciplines. Very narrowly oriented: deviant behavior, mass behavior, manipulative behavior for psychologists. And general disciplines can be replaced, but specialized ones with difficulty,” says Fedor Shandor, professor at Uzhgorod University.

The commanders went to a meeting – now from four to eight in the morning he is on combat duty. And from eight to ten, he lectures twice a week. Fatigue, he assures, does not feel, and such classes are beneficial for students. “We began to go to couples more. As I understand it, this is according to that option … in the slang speech “the teacher is at war and it’s not convenient not to go,” the professor laughs.

That he would do just that, colleagues did not even doubt. Like, he always tried to be in time everywhere, and his almost 30 years of experience is irreplaceable. “It was he who in 2006 created a specialty at UzhNU – tourism studies, in 2014 he was the initiator of the creation of the Faculty of Tourism and International Communications. And it is very important for us that he does not leave his teaching job,” says Natalia Gapchak, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and International Communications.

It was he who, last summer, in a special project of TSN dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine, conducted a tour of Natalia Moseychuk in Uzhgorod. After all, he is one of the best local historians of Transcarpathia. Not only Ukrainian students study according to his textbooks, but also Hungarian and Swiss ones. The very ignorance and zombification of the whole nation, he calls one of the reasons for the invasion of the Russians. “Those hominoids, because it’s hard to call them homo sapiens… these primates are like aliens, another civilization has invaded because we are space for them. It is murder without an idea, simply because it is murder. Ideology, ideology is completely absent,” the man says.

So he says he will not only defend his country until victory, but also do everything so that the next generation of Ukrainians grows up educated and free.
