A group of evacuees arrived safely on May 8 in Zaporozhye.
UN Secretary General António Guterres welcomed the operation to evacuate more than 170 civilians from Mariupol, including Azovstal.
This is stated in the statement of the Secretary General, writes Ukrinform.
“I welcome the arrival of a new group of more than 170 civilians evacuated from the Azovstal steel plant and other areas of Mariupol as part of a successful removal of people operation by the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross,” Guterres said.
A group of evacuees arrived safely on May 8 in Zaporozhye.
“My thoughts are with them and with all the people in Ukraine who are suffering from this war,” he added.
According to him, more than 600 people were evacuated from Azovstal and other districts of Mariupol with the participation of the UN.
It is worth noting that the defenders of Mariupol have four options, but the only way that will guarantee life is to stand and fight.
