Russia repulsed the aggression, it was “a forced, timely and the only right decision,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a parade in Moscow.

He claims that Russia has called on the West for an honest dialogue, but to no avail.

“NATO countries did not want to hear us, they had completely different plans, they were preparing an attack on Crimea,” Putin said.

He added that the Russian military during the so-called “special military operation” is fighting for the people in Donbass, for the security of the homeland and fighting “on their land,” Putin said.

“A threat that was completely unacceptable to us was systematically created,” the Russian president said. “And right next to our borders.”

He spoke of Russia’s losses and promised compensation to all relatives of the victims.

Also at the beginning of the parade, Putin’s spokesman Peskov said that the flight at the parade was canceled due to bad weather.

However, the Russian president did not announce a general mobilization, as predicted by some Western media.
