When European Council President Charles Michel was visiting Odessa, Russia continued to bombard the city with rockets.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmihal and Charles Michel visited a residential building in Odessa destroyed by a Russian missile, where a three-month-old girl, her mother and grandmother died on Easter Eve.
The head of government announced this and published a photo.
“Odessa is bombed by Russian missiles almost every day, just like today — right during our visit with Charles Michel. Unfortunately, civilians are dying. grandmother. Terrible grief that came to this and thousands of other Ukrainian families,” Shmigal wrote.
The Ukrainian minister called on the international community to stop Russia from destroying and killing Ukrainians and bring it to justice. “The European Union is with us in this fight,” he stressed.
Recall, the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, arrived in Odessa on May 9 to celebrate Europe Day. There he met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmihal.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with the President of the European Council via videoconference. During the conversation, the head of state noted that he “appreciates the bold position of the head of the European Council to visit Ukraine at such special times,” and also thanked for the constant support of Ukraine from the EU.
