UN Secretary General António Guterres responded to the bombing of a school in the Lugansk region.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres is appalled by reports of an attack on a school in Belogorovka, Luhansk region, on May 7, where civilians were hiding.
This was stated by the speaker of Guterres from Ukraine Stefan Dujarric.
He said the attack is another reminder that in this war, as in many other conflicts, citizens pay the ultimate price. Guterres stressed that in time of war it is necessary to always protect the civilian population and civilian infrastructure.
“This war must be stopped, peace must be established in accordance with the UN Charter and international law,” the statement said.
It is noted that the UN and its humanitarian partners in Ukraine will continue to support those whose lives have been destroyed by the war.
Recall that in the Luhansk region, the Russian military destroyed the building of a rural school , in which the villagers were hiding from shelling. Since the blow was very strong, there were practically no chances for people to survive.
Most of the people for whom the school was a repository died.
