The detainee faces up to seven years in prison.
Near Kyiv, a man kept a lot of weapons and ammunition in his own house.
During a search at the defendant’s place of residence, investigators seized 17 weapons and ammunition, including hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers, machine guns, a knife, brass knuckles, and almost 30,000 cartridges of various calibers.
This was reported by the Communications Department of the Kiev Police.
“A pre-trial investigation established that a 37-year-old resident of the Kyiv region kept a large number of weapons and ammunition in his own house. As a result of an urgent search, the police seized RPG hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers, AK-47 assault rifles with magazines for them, a bayonet-knife, brass knuckles and almost 30,000 rounds of various calibers,” the statement said.
The violator was detained by law enforcement officers in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
All seized weapons and ammunition were sent for expert examination.
The detainee was notified of the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal handling of weapons, ammunition and explosives. The sanction of the article provides for from three to seven years in prison.
Recall that about 2.5 million people are currently in Kiev . This is almost two thirds of the pre-war period.
