An ad hoc group of international experts chaired by Michael McFaul, Director of the Freeman-Spogli Institute for International Studies, and Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, proposed an Energy Sanctions Roadmap.
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in a video message on May 10.
“This is a detailed document that describes what needs to be done to make it really difficult for Russia to finance this war, but at the same time – so that the global economy does not suffer losses due to restrictions on Russian energy resources,” the head of state explained.
“This is a rationally drafted document, and today we have started working on its implementation,” Zelensky added.
Recall that the OP explained that the Energy Sanctions Roadmap details the topic of the relevant sanctions, helping governments and companies around the world to form proposals for sanctions policy against Russia. The application of energy sanctions should increase the cost of invading Ukraine for the Russian Federation and help the Ukrainian state protect its territorial integrity.
