The Hungarian government will submit its proposals to the European Union this week.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said the country is demanding that the EU provide a decision, in particular on economic assistance for reconstruction and compensation, so that Hungary supports the embargo on Russian oil.
RBC-Ukraine writes about this.
“We are waiting for proposals not only to reconstruct our refineries for hundreds of millions of dollars, not only to increase the capacity of the oil pipeline to Hungary through Croatia by hundreds of millions of dollars, but also the future of the economy. The oil embargo requires a program to modernize the structure of the Hungarian energy supply, which will cost about several billion euros,” Szijjarto said.
The Minister also stressed that the rejection of oil from Russia will lead to an increase in the price of fuel oil by 50-60%, which in turn will lead to an increase in food prices.
Recall that the EU may pay compensation in Hungary if Orban agrees to an embargo of Russian oil.
